Orthoses that provide quality support and comfort for an active life.

Orthoses that provide quality support and comfort

We manufacture a wide range of orthoses, handcrafted from high-quality materials. With our orthosis, you ensure that your pet receives optimal support and comfort needed for a fulfilling life.

Just like with prostheses, when choosing orthoses, it's crucial for them to fit excellently and fully meet your dog's needs. Standard offerings in sizes small, medium, and large significantly limit the ability to fit perfectly. Ill-fitting orthoses cause discomfort, may lead to health issues, and do not provide adequate support.

Knee orthosis

An orthosis that provides the necessary support to the knee and helps minimize pain in various orthopedic knee joint issues.

The approximate price is 650 USD / 575 EUR (including tax and casting kit, excluding shipping). For an accurate calculation, please contact us.

Your floppy-eared friend will benefit from this orthosis in cases of anterior cruciate ligament (CCL) issues and other orthopedic difficulties in the knee joint area. The knee orthosis provides stabilization, support, and helps minimize pain, making movement easier and improving the overall well-being of the dog.

The orthosis is individually designed for each dog based on its anatomy and specific needs, ensuring optimal effectiveness and comfort for the patient. Knee orthoses are often used in the treatment of various orthopedic conditions in dogs and can be a key component of rehabilitation.

Functions of the knee orthosis

We developed our knee orthosis to fully meet the needs of stabilizing the knee joint. In cases of anterior cruciate ligament injury, there is a displacement of the tibia relative to the femur, which can cause damage to the meniscus and joint surfaces. At the same time, there is overloading of the muscle chains of the limb, which usually bear this load.

The orthosis not only stabilizes the knee but also helps reduce pain and promotes better regeneration of the affected tissues. The main advantage of the knee orthosis is that it significantly shortens the recovery time of the affected limb. This greatly reduces the risk of your dog injuring the cruciate ligament on the other (healthy) limb, as there is no excessive strain on it.

It's no coincidence that it's said a dog injures the other cruciate ligament within a year. With our orthosis, you can effectively eliminate this risk and minimize the possibility of further injuries.

For whom is the knee orthosis designed

The knee orthosis serves your dog in the following situations:

  1. Injury to the anterior cruciate ligament (partial or complete ligament rupture):
    - In these cases, it is essential to stabilize the knee joint to prevent further complications.
  2. Prevention of surgical intervention:
    - Especially in cases of partial ligament rupture, when surgical intervention is not yet indicated, the orthosis can prevent further problems and allow the dog time to "wait and see" before further steps are taken.
  3. Postoperative healing:
    - The orthosis can support smooth recovery after surgical intervention.
  4. Support for the second limb after surgery:
    - The orthosis can be used to provide support and stabilization for the second limb, which is in the process of recovery after surgery.
  5. Stabilization of the knee in patients who are unable to undergo surgery:
    - For patients who, for various reasons, cannot undergo surgery (age, other health complications such as a weak heart, etc.), or for clients who cannot afford surgery financially, the orthosis can provide stabilization of the knee joint.

In this way, the orthosis contributes to the comfort and recovery of your dog in challenging situations associated with knee problems.

Carpal orthosis

Our carpal orthosis is designed to provide support for the front limbs and is used in postoperative recovery, rehabilitation therapy, and injury prevention in animals at higher risk.

The approximate price is 850 USD / 755 EUR (including tax and casting kit, excluding shipping). For an accurate calculation, please contact us.

Function of the carpal orthosis

We developed our carpal (wrist) orthosis to fully meet the needs of stabilizing the forelimb at the wrist (carpal joint) in dogs. Because a dog carries up to 60% of its weight on its front limbs, the carpal joint is a significant and complex joint subjected to high stress during movement and in static positions. The carpus consists of seven small bones connected by ligamentous structures and contains fifteen cartilages. Damage to this joint significantly affects the animal's movement and posture, leading to further compensations on the other limb and overloading of muscle chains, thus increasing the risk of additional injuries.

The carpal orthosis not only stabilizes the wrist but also helps reduce pain and supports better regeneration of affected tissues.

By using our orthosis, the risk of compensatory injuries can be effectively eliminated, minimizing the chances of further potential injuries to an otherwise healthy limb.

* This orthosis can also be worn by cats. For more information and an assessment of the suitability of the orthosis for a specific cat, consultation with us is necessary. We need to assess the cat's health condition, specific needs, and consider the suitability of the orthosis in the context of the specific situation.

For whom is the carpal orthosis designed

Carpal orthosis serves your dog in the following situations:

  1. After surgical intervention:
    - In these cases, it is essential to stabilize the carpal joint to prevent further complications.
  2. Preventive surgical intervention:
    - Especially in the case of impending arthrodesis, when surgery is not yet indicated, an orthosis can prevent further problems and allow the dog a period of "waiting for further steps," or even avoid surgery altogether.
  3. Postoperative healing:
    - The orthosis can support smooth recovery after surgical intervention.
  4. Support for a healthy limb during amputation:
    - We recommend a carpal orthosis for animals that have had their entire limb amputated but are not suitable candidates for a full limb replacement with a prosthesis.
  5. Over extention / hyperextension:
    - If your buddy is dealing with hyperextension, using our carpal orthosis is definitely appropriate. Our orthosis effectively prevents hyperextension of the carpal joint, which can help prevent issues associated with pressure sores.
  6. Deformities and developmental/growth abnormalities:
    - In the case that your pet has a congenital deformity of the thoracic limb and there is a need to stabilize the thoracic limb and carpal joint, the carpal orthosis also meets these requirements.

Tarsal orthosis

We have designed a tarsal orthosis to support, stabilize, or correct issues associated with the tarsal joint, located in the hind limb of the animal. The tarsal orthosis can be used in the treatment of various orthopedic problems, including tendon injuries, ligament injuries, arthritis, or joint deformities.

The approximate price is 850 USD / 755 EUR (including tax and casting kit, excluding shipping). For an accurate calculation, please contact us.

Function of the tarsal orthosis

We've designed the orthosis to provide support and restrict unwanted movement in the joint, aiding the animal in healing or maintaining the limb's condition. Similar to our other orthoses, the tarsal orthosis is made from lightweight and durable material – thermoplastic – to minimize limb strain and ensure the animal's comfort.

Tarsal injuries can result from either acute traumatic events or activities causing repeated sudden strains on the supportive structures of the joints.

Our tarsal orthoses are designed to provide ankle support and prevent hyperextension or overloading of the Achilles tendon. The tarsal orthosis can be equipped with an additional strap allowing adjustment of the range of motion, mimicking the Achilles tendon. This way, the orthosis supports the affected joint and helps minimize excessive movements, which can reduce the risk of repeated injuries and contribute to better stabilization and healing of the affected area.

* This orthosis can also be worn by cats. For more information and to assess the suitability of the orthosis for a specific cat, consultation with us is necessary. We need to evaluate the cat's health condition, specific needs, and consider the appropriateness of the orthosis in the context of the specific situation.

For whom is the tarsal orthosis designed

Tarsal orthosis serves your dog in the following situations:

  1. Support for the knee after an Achilles tendon injury:
    - The orthosis can provide stabilization and support for the knee joint during recovery from a complicated Achilles tendon injury.
  2. Support during tarsal joint arthrodesis:
-The orthosis assists in stabilization post-surgical intervention, most commonly arthrodesis, allowing controlled movement in the joint for the dog.
  3. Support after medial/lateral collateral ligament injury:
    - The orthosis can provide support and stabilization after medial/lateral collateral ligament injury.
  4. Support after digital flexor tendon injury:
    - Issues with the digital flexors can be addressed with an orthosis providing support and motion control.
  5. Supporting instability due to hyperextension:
    - The orthosis can help restrict excessive hyperextension of the joint, which is a common issue of this joint after certain types of injuries.
  6. Aid for controlling neurological toe clawing:
    - In cases of neurological issues, the orthosis can be modified to help control unwanted toe clawing on the pelvic limb.
  7. Support in unsuccessful arthrodesis:
    - In cases of unsuccessful arthrodesis, where the surgical procedure did not achieve the expected results, the orthosis helps stabilize the joint and minimizes the discomfort of the animal, allowing it to continue enjoying movement.
